โครงสร้างประโยค (Sentence Structure)
ในการอ่านหรือการเขียนภาษาอังกฤษ เรามักจะเจอกับ “โครงสร้างประโยค” ในภาษาอังกฤษ ซึ่งสามารถแบ่งออกได้เป็น 3 ประเภทดังนี้
(Simple Sentence)
(Compound Sentence)
(Complex Sentence)
ประโยคความเดียว (Simple Sentence)
คือ ประโยคที่มีโครงสร้างเรียบง่ายเพียงประโยคเดียว ประกอบด้วย:
Subject + Verb + (Adjective) + (Object) + (Complement)
ประธาน + กริยา + (คำคุณศัพท์) + (กรรม) + (ส่วนขยาย)
ตัวอย่างประโยค
รถบัสมาไม่ตรงเวลา
“The bus” = subject, “was” = verb
I looked for Jennie and Smith at the train station
ฉันมองหาเจนนี่และสมิธที่สถานีรถไฟ
“I” = subject, “looked for” = verb, “Jennie and Smith” = object,
“at the train station.” = complement
โจรอพ่ออยู่
“Joe” = subject, “waited for” = verb, “his dad” = object
ประโยคความรวม (Compound Sentence)
คือ ประโยคที่มีใจความรวม 2 ประโยคเข้าด้วยกันด้วย “คำเชื่อม” เช่น and (และ), but (แต่), or (หรือ), so (ดังนั้น), for (สำหรับ)
ซึ่งคำเชื่อมมีหลักการจำง่าย ๆ คือ “FAN BOYS”: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet และ So

Ryan waited for the bus, but the bus was late
